Servion Zoo
The Servion Zoo contains Nordic fauna, big cats, primates and lemurs and is committed to preserving endangered species, such as the tiger.
The edge of the Jorat forest (774 m) is naturally suited for animals like foxes, wolves, reindeer, bears and lynx. Almost 26 animal species are kept at Servion Zoo.
In the framework of the worldwide preservation programme, 21st Century Tiger, Servion Zoo is playing temporary host to a couple of Siberian tigers, Tinka and Zeus. These big cats come from the Kristiansand Zoo near Oslo and Munich, respectively, and have been put together with a view to mating and producing offspring. The risk of consanguinity linked to such animal exchanges is governed by strict regulations.
Servion Zoo is ideal for family visits: it can be accessed with pushchairs and wheelchairs. A self-service restaurant, a picnic region and a playground offer a place of rest to young visitors all year round.
