Nordic Walking
Nordic Walking, a rapid walking method with two sticks, has countless fans in the Lake Geneva Region, where initiation and special itineraries are on offer in Leysin and in Château-d’Oex.
Nordic Walking is a sport exercised at a fast pace with sticks. This originally Finnish open-air sport improves the cardiovascular and muscular systems.
Easily accessible for any type of physical condition and any age, Nordic Walking has become very popular. A great number of Internet sites publish their outing programmes in Lausanne, Blonay, Nyon, Vallorbe and Lavaux.
Leysin and Château-d’Oex propose itineraries and initiation classes. Under the name of HELSANA Swiss Running Nordic Trails, Pays d’Enhaut and Château-d’Oex propose several marked itineraries with Swiss Olympic-approved coaches.
Leysin has set up three new marked itineraries especially for Nordic Walking and running. Descriptive notices explain the correct way of doing Nordic Walking. Easy route: 4.8 km; middle route: 8.1 km; advanced route: 15.4 km.
Villars-Gryon also proposes Nordic Walking itineraries and classes.
