Alpine Coaster, Glacier 3000
Tearing down a banked-corner slope at 40 km/h opposite snow-capped peaks! This is possible with the Alpine Coaster, the sled on rails at Glacier 3000 in Diablerets.
Installed at an altitude of 3,000 m, the Alpine Coaster in Diablerets is the highest rail sled installation worldwide. Some thirty sleds tear down the slope 6 m above ground, opposite a breathtaking panorama of twenty-four Alpine peaks that are over 4,000 m high. Sledders are in charge of their own speed, reaching peaks of 40km/h in a breathtaking descent. The descent over ten bends (one at 520°) jumps and bridges takes merely two minutes.
The panoramic cable car from Col du Pillon in Diablerets takes you to the Alpine Coaster. The facility is open in the summer season whenever the cable car is operational. Other activities, such as snow bus, cross-country, dog sled rides, hikes, Via Ferrata as well as the View Point add to the adventure offers at Glacier3000.
